Welcome to Kilbroney Ramblers Walking Club

Founded in April 24, 2013, Kilbroney Ramblers Walking Club is a community-based walking group that welcomes members from the South Down and South Armagh areas, including Rathfriland, Rostrevor, Warrenpoint, Newry, and Belfast. We also have members from Dundalk, Drogheda, and Navan.

Our club is designed for adults aged 50 and above who want to explore the beauty of nature through hill walking at their own pace. Whether you’re new to walking or an experienced hiker, we have a walk grade to suit you.

Our Walks: Find Your Perfect Challenge

We offer walks on Tuesdays and Fridays, with varying levels of difficulty to suit your fitness and experience.
Here’s what you can expect.

T Grade Walk

Ideal for those who want a relaxed start with shorter, low-level walks. These walks typically last around 2.5 hours and are perfect for beginners. Walks are held every Tuesday and Friday.

C Grade Walk

For those ready to venture into the hills without too much strain, the C Grade walk lasts approximately 3.5 hours and are scheduled weekly, every Tuesday and Friday.

C+ Grade Walk

A more challenging route for those members who wish to take their walking to the next level. These walks last about 4.5 hours and are offered on a weekly basis every Friday.

B Grade Walk

For the fitter and experienced members seeking a more strenuous and demanding challenge, the B Grade walk lasts around 5 hours and is scheduled weekly on Fridays.

Joining Kilbroney Ramblers was truly the best decision I’ve ever made. Not only has it helped me stay active, but it’s also introduced me to an amazing group of people who’ve become close friends. Together, we’ve explored some of the most beautiful trails in the Mourne’s, Cooley’s and further afield. Every walk brings new adventure, great conversation and precious memories made. I can’t recommend it enough!

I have been a member of the popular Kilbroney Ramblers for many years now. I look forward to my weekly outings into the Mourne Mountains and beyond. The Group meet to walk twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays. I enjoy the social aspect of our walks.
The walks are well planned and organised, with different destinations each week. The scenic forays are beneficial for both physical and mental well-being.
